A Journey to the Mountain of the 12 Gods
Description: A classic route that starts from the outskirts of Litohoro village and goes up to Prionia refuge. (Or the other way around). The international hiking path E4 starts in the area of Myloi (400 m) and is one of the entrances into the National Park from the town of Litohoro. The path passes through the stunning Enipeas Canyon and is well preserved with clear markings and informative signs. After many ascents and descents, the path ends at Prionia refuge at Enipeas springs (1100 m). The path starts along Enipeas Canyon to the left of the river and half way along the route it crosses the canyon seven times across beautiful wooden bridges.
Location: Litohoro village, at the north-east footsteps of Mt. Olympus / 95 km from Thessaloniki or Litohoro.
Destination: van transfer to Prionia.
Available Starting Point: Thessaloniki.
Duration: 8-9 hours (starting time: 09:00, ending time: 18:00)
Don’t forget to bring: Backpack-Trekking Footwear-Windproof/waterproof Membrane-Light pants or short Pants-Base Layer-T-Shirt-Hat-Sun protection.

It is the place where the King of the Gods, Zeus, released his thunderbolts onto humanity, as a sign of anger or wrath. Nowadays the mountain, which is the tallest one in Greece, is a darling for climbing expeditions.
Mt Olympus is located on the border between Macedonia & Thessaly, and boasts for its astonishing nature, its popular slopes, its Christian monuments & its ancient/medieval sites.
It is considered a non-technical hike, expect from the summit to the peak of Mytikas (2918m).
